Mission
The mission of the Bay Area Warriors is to educate and help youth develop athletic skills while gaining a level of confidence and self-esteem that they can use on and off the court. The organization aims to serve the youth of San Francisco through their basketball program and running travel teams, leagues, and camps. It is the Bay Area Warriors' goal to mentor as many young men and women in the community as possible, regardless of athletic ability, ethnic background, or economic status.
The Bay Area Warriors Inc. is an entirely volunteer run 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Initially founded by Evan Jones and Randy Bessolo in 2005 in partnership with the First Base Foundation, it has since been reincorporated in 2012 as Bay Area Warriors, Inc., a 501(c)3.
In 2018 Bay Area Warriors entered a partnership with Bay City Basketball and now run our High School Boys Program under the name Bay City Warriors. We typically have about 12 teams in aggregate each Spring and summer season at the 17U, 16U and 15u levels. More info on these teams can be found at www.baycitybasketball.com.
Bay Area Warriors continues to run its Camps, Fall Mini-League League, City All-Star Game and select travel teams under its own name.
